Are you taking off the differential cover and cleaning out the gear box? When you replace the differential cover, you will fill through the check port. You can also insert a tube into the check port, and vacuum out the old fluid, then refill. You will add fluid until you can't add any more. As fluid dribbles back out, that is the correct fill level. Any other measurement is irrelevant. But to answer your question, the capacity is 1.9 liter. So buy 2 quarts. 1.9 liters = 2.00771 quarts. If you really want to, buy that extra quart, and top it off until you fluid spills back out of the hole. The game changes when you buy aftermarket differential covers. A Mag Hytec has a 4 quart capacity. But you can still fill until fluid spills out the check port. Same idea.

I have the rear end out from under the truck right now and removed the pan and old fluid and put the new fluid in and reinstall the cover before putting it under the truck. The cover is the factory original. I put two quarts in minus 4 ounces because that’s how much friction modifier I put in it. Wanted to make sure I hadn’t over filled or badly under filled it.
