1990 F250. Was putting on the new step bars and saw the glint of duct tape. Aw hell. It's the connectors for the RABS. Guess I need to plug it on to see what's up with that. This truck was used as a food trailer hauler in a previous life so I'm wondering if the RABS conflicted with the trailer brake controller or something. Or could be some other shade tree fix. 78k original miles, but the trailer brake controller install was a bit of a hack job. 460 with an E4OD. It's been running great. No issues with the tranny shifting as I have read in a few other posts. Wondering if the RABS is a constant source of despair in these rides. And, believe it or not, this truck gets 11.5 - 12 MPG consistently with highway driving.
TIA.
it was most likely disconnected because it did not work.
my 88 had the RABS bypassed at the ford dealer with under 200 miles or so because they would either slam you into the windshield, or no brakes at all and run through red lights.
the dealer could not get the RABS to work properly so i said get rid of it.
