Anyone know of a source for a new AM/FM cassette player that will fit our trucks? Did some searching and couldn't find anything with a cassette. Can't imagine why. LOL
I don't believe you can buy a new one. I haven't seen the aftermarket make a cassette single din since the early 2000's. You can barely find a CD player as everything has gone mech less.
I have on older Pioneer cassette deck that fit right in place, no cutting, that I plan on replacing (one day, lol). My dad put it in in the 90's. The sound is crap but that's likely because of the original speakers and wiring. You're welcome to it.
Thanks for the replies guys. The above unit is listed as fitting 68-72 Ford Trucks. Anyone know if it would cross over to 73-79 without much trouble? Looks like the spacing for controls are adjustable
Well, I bought the unit linked above from NPD which was made by Ken Harrison Enterprises. I contacted KHE with the model number NPD listed and he when he said they no longer make that unit nor any other cassette player, I ordered it immediately. Literally I probably got the last AM/FM cassette as they are showing out of stock now.
It was listed as being for 68-72 Trucks but fit the 77 just great using the original face plate and rear support bar. Plays really nice.
Thanks again ManfredVonRichtofen for posting the link.
