Well I got the Truck all torn apart and just got it blasted. Hood and doors are in Epoxy Primer and Cab will be in Epoxy early next week. Got some Work to do! Found some rust at the bottom of the cab in the back, damage to the cab corner and cowl panel, old repairs that need to be fixed.
Are those previous repairs on the cab corners? In the pics it looks like a bead of body sealer? Is that a new hood and doors? Looks like you're right into it. I'll be following ya!
Yes existing repairs. Who ever did the repairs, brazed everything! So what you are seeing is brass or?? Going to order new front cab corner/cowl panels and lower door pat h panels. Already have the rear corner panel so I can eliminate the fuel filler neck.

Yes that's how it was done back in the day as we did not have the MIG welders like we do today, only stick and it would not go that low for sheet metal, so all panels were brazed in place.

Just repair the rust holes and mud over what's there. The old repairs might not look as good as what a mig would do now but they still look like they are holding up..don't fix it if it isn't broke ..
Just to catch up, I now have the cab, doors and hood blasted and in epoxy! I have all of the new sheet metal for a complete new bed, new front and rear fenders, new rear cab panel with Big Window, new front cowl/cab corners, new floor pan and new firewall. But now, my wife and I are thinking about retiring and moving back to Northern California so I am thinking about selling everything I have, making the move and then find a new project once I get settled!
