Battery idiot light on
On my idi swapped 88 bronco my battery light randomly comes on solid or sometimes flashes, battery voltage is 13.5 at idle and around 14.2 at 2000rpm and the alternator, voltage regulator and batteries are all brand new. All the wiring came from the donor truck so everything would match up and work correctly and it does. I'm thinking the problem must be in the instrument cluster because the light was on in the donor truck as well and the only modification I made to the cluster was bypassing the resistor for the oil pressure gauge so it would actually work as a gauge and not a glorified idiot light. Am I overlooking something or do I have a bad part? I don't want to just take the bulb out because it's there for a reason and if it's there then it should be functional in my humble opinion. Alternator is a standard remanufactured 100 amp 1g and a very expensive napa echlin regulator and I have verified voltage with a very old skool charging system analyzer that matches the dash gauge. Anyone who might know what else to look at let me know as I'm trying to get this heap road ready. Thanks
