Fluid film

Looking to keep my excursion as rust free as possible. Looked into fluid film and like what I see but can't find anyone who does this around my area central wisconsin. Anyone have experience with fluid film and if you do happen to know a place around central wisconsin that applies this.

https://www.facebook.com/blackriverbody/ They are in Medford. Red was rustproofing a new F150 yesterday.

They don't use fluid film. This is much better.

The "Fluid Film" I am familiar with is a spray on lubricant/rust penetrant similar to Deep Creep or PB B'laster. It, however, is thicker and sticks around like white lithium grease spray. I do not believe it would be used as a coating agent to protect from rust.

I have used it on door hinges, locks, gate stays, rusty hardware, and occasionally in electrical connectors.

It's a common practice for Fluid Film, I coat the underside of my vehicles with it every Fall. White lithium grease and Fluid Film are completely different.

I would agree on the differences.... the lubrication properties and your application (need for one versus the other). But, do they not both "stick around" as in not evaporate? They both leave a film or residue after drying. Hence, Fluid Film is more of a lubricant in the end as is White Lithium Grease. WD-40, Deep Creep, PB B'laster, Aero Kroil, etc, are penetrants, not much lubricating happening with these.

Yes I agree with that, Fluid Film and white lithium can be used for the same application, I have used them both on door hinges and garage door tracks, however I wouldn't recommend coating the whole underside of you vehicle with white lithium grease like you do with Fluid Film.

Strange. Coming from the Pacific Northwest, I would not have thought people were coating the underside of their vehicles with Fluid Film that I typically use for squeaky hinges. The reality is, I have an 84 Subaru that does not require any penetrant to work on, except for maybe the exhaust hardware.

Do they use salt on the roads where you live? That is what destroys everything.

Thankfully, no. We had a "bad" winter a couple years ago. Like 6" of snow and a couple days of freezing weather. Everyone lost their ever-lovin minds and screamed from the roof tops, "why don't we salt the roads??????? I can't drive to work!!!!!!" ..... Said the person in a mustang with bald tires.
