I gravitated to this site because I have owned (and still own) many, many FORDS. I asked serious questions previously regarding issues I had with a used 2011 F250. The answers were lame, and one respondent suggested I go to my DEALER; I wouldn't be here if the dealer new **** from Shinola... WTF. I was gonna ask about a wiring harness on a 2016 F250 (bought new), but after revisiting this website and trying to research the specific questions I had, I've come to the absolute conclusion that most of the respondents should remain silent because when they DON'T, they demonstrate their total ignorance of mechanical/electrical vehicle issues, Also, This web site as about as user friendly as having a rabid pet rat.
That’s too bad because I have a 2016 and it has a wiring harness and I could have answered your questions, but since you were such a south end of a north bound horse, I will not answer your question!
I have always found this site extremely helpful. Yes there are always folks on forums who think they know more than they do but there are others that are worth their weight in gold in the knowledge they possess and are gladly willing to freely share. Sure I have started threads and not gotten the answer I was looking for but I don't blame the folks here on the site. And as far as how to differentiate between the smart one and the not so smart ones, Well you just have to spend some time here reading and learn as you go. Love this place and the folks on it!!!
What annoys me is when people ask questions that could be answered by themselves in 2 minutes if they would put a half an ounce of effort into doing a bit of research.

There are two sides to that coin. There is the side where you get much less activity and generally a very quiet forum. The other side is new members get to discuss things and old members get to rethink or restate their views on how things are done.
That's why digging up old threads is not strictly forbidden ... sometimes some new discussion is very helpful. You can always unsubscribe from the thread if you're no longer interested.
Almost all the forums I'm on, about a half dozen, are pretty much the same. 80% of the people have very little to only basic knowledge of the forums topic, 10% have in depth knowledge of most aspects of the subject, 10% are dumber than lint. As much as I hate to say it, from what I've noticed, the newer your vehicle is, the more those numbers skew to the dumber than lint side and those people love giving their opinions. I'm generally in here and the 73-79 area and that area has WAY more people that know how to diagnose and repair vehicles than this area. The one thing you'll never hear in the old truck forums is the whole "Ford spent millions engineering (insert part or system) and you think your smarter than a Ford engineer to be fixing/changing /modifying it? " or the ubiquitous "take it to the stealer ship" Those engineers did a great job with the 6.blow, didn't they?
