Rear DVD issues

I’ve got a 2004 Limited with the rear DVD that extends across the top of the roof (temp controls on the left, screen in middle, DVD player on right). Aftermarket head unit was installed, but DVD player didn’t work before I swapped. Did all the wiring per the forums here and have verified power to the unit in the rear with a volt meter.

I get nothing from the DVD player. No noises, nothing on screen. I assume the DVD player itself might be bad? If anyone has any other ideas any ears are open.

If not, does anyone know where to get one? I don’t have a part number on my unit and can’t find anything from basic eBay searches.

Thank you!

I bought mine from these guys. It's just the DVD player guts but was easy to swap out. You're on your own for a nice faceplate, because I've never found one. My DVD player I got from them works perfectly.

For my 2003 (and 2003+):

Since I ordered mine in 2018, they've started offering replacement drop down screens and other good stuff. I may replace mine since the housing retention clip for the screen seems to have been busted by the prior owners mini-apelettes.

What do you mean by faceplate? Would I not be able to use the one I’ve got if it’s just a swap of the internals?

Yes, use the one you have. It's a very easy swap. I have a very messed up button and face plate set unfortunately. Like I said ...ape-lettes. I think they swung by the DVD screen at some point.

If you come across any button overlays let me know!
