2017+ Towing mirrors

I’ve seen this hit on only once or twice from what I’ve been able to search so far.

I recently purchased my second excursion (2004 6.0 solid black Limited). On my 2002 I owned previously I put the 08-16 style mirrors and they were fine but I never felt like they really “fit” the truck from a looks perspective.

My new one has the paddle mirrors so they’re due for replacement. I originally thought I’d just find the correct era 99-07 towing mirrors and put them on there, but I paused and thought maybe the 2017+ mirrors would look good. A quick eBay search showed they definitely make them to fit the older style trucks and for fairly reasonable prices too.

Has anyone put the new mirrors on their X yet? I also had considered the F150 style as opposed to the F250/350 as I’ve seen them available. Slightly different styling between the 2.

Thoughts and especially pictures would be fantastic! Thank you!

Post #16 shows them on an F-250 which is an Excursion from the b pillar forward and they look silly to me. They angle up because they aren’t made for our older body styles. The way they fit the new trucks is different and causes them to angle up on OBS instead of look level.

Notice how the F-150 mirrors are perpendicular to the doors and the F-250 angle up about an inch or more. Looks wonky.

Fair enough! A side view would be nice. I actually prefer the F150 styled ones but I think I’m going to end up going with the classic (original) tow mirrors with the blacked out lenses. They look sharp
