Anyone replace their seats? What did you use? Get specific.
Here are my constraints: '77 regular cab 4 speed. I use my truck for long trips and on occasion have to sleep in the truck. SO, I have to have something that has an even seating area. My '07 F150 has a 40-20-40 bench and I like it and it'll work. Because it's a regular cab and I am well over 6' tall there isn't a lot of extra room for big fancy seats.
So help! Mu original seat is showing its age.
Thanks,
R.
I used a standard bench seat from a '94 and swapped out the tracks. Just a straight bench seat, no 60/40 split or anything. It has some moulded headrests, and the only negative that I find is it sits maybe an inch higher than my previous bench seat, and I have the blue strip in the top of the windshield, and am also just over 6', so sometimes I have to lean down to see traffic lights and such. Really good, easy, cheap swap though and mine has a cupholder!!! Oh, and my truck is a regular cab '79 with a 5 spd from a '94 in it, and there is plenty of clearance for the shifter and stuff.
I used an 1994 OEM Ford F-Series Bench Seat that has the fold down center arm rest and head rests, I liked the seat's features comfort and safety. Used the 77 F-150's original seat frame / track and mounted the 1994 seat onto it. I used 1/2" aluminum blocks between the floor board and seat frame to enable me just a little more under seat storage space without sacrificing too much head room. Also installed a 2010 Ford Ranger OEM cup holder onto the front of the seat and it doesn't interfere with my transfer case lever,
