After sitting all night , i checked the Hpop reservior , no oil in it, guess this is why i takes so long to crank, it has gotten worse over the last week , so i better get to rebuilding the hpop and ipr! Was hoping it would hold off till i had time LOL
I dealt with this problem for awhile. The work around is pretty easy - pour some oil into the rez and it should start and go. Problem is that you could overfill your pan if you do this too many times without draining some. I think my problem was a tired LPOP that couldn't refill a drained rez. But it would keep enough oil flowing so that it ran ok once I got it started. Replaced LPOP (and HPOP) and haven't had to refill since. Changing the HPOP wasn't a measure to solve the reservoir problem. At the end of the day, the new low pressure pump can stay ahead of the draining reservoir better than the old one. I didn't do anything to address the draining - unless somehow the HPOP plays a role, which I don't think it does.

I was wondering if the ipr had anything to do with it, need to look at how the system works , Sous had a link the other day that i will be working through
I don't know if the IPR would do that or not but there is a check ball in the top of the block right behind the HPOP reservoir that's held in with a 3/8" plug. That will let your oil drain out of the HPOP reservoir if it's not working right. It's rare but it could happen.

Yup...but not behind, per say...more at 5o clock position to the hoop...
