Flathead V8 Timing

I would like to know the timing on a flat head V8 1951 thats been bored 40,000ths over with a mile cam. Truck turns over real slow when warm like it has a dead battery. Starter is in excellent condition and has a 6 volt optima battery. All the grounds are good. Any suggestions?

advance the timing...… the bore has little to do with this...the cam grind..everything...with that said, you're likely going to have to set it by ear or with a vacuum gauge to what your engine likes... if you advance it too far, it will cough up through the carb especially when trying to start....this is going to be a "play with it until it feels good"
