Timing

are there any special procedures i need to follow in order to set the timing on my 1988 bronco with a 5.8L.

have engine warm, remove spout connector and set timing with a light. have battery disconnected during this as well. then once you get it set should be at 10*-12* btdc reconnect every thing and go for a drive.

are you sure about disonnecting the battery?

well, what i meant by that is it should be done after the timing is set that way the computer can relearn. i got a bit twisted there , my bad. so set the timing then disconnect the battery for 5mins then reconnect and drive it for 30mins in various conditions like stop and go traffic, some WOT that sort of thing.
