Can anyone please help me? I have a 1994 ranger xlt and the blower motor control has only one speed. Does anyone have any ideas why only I have one speed before I pull the switch out?
Thanks

Thank you very much for your help! The resister was bad and also I had to replace the plug for the resister because it was corroded and stuck into the resister. All the speeds now work!
What a great site people helping people!!
Hey, I have had this problem with my 91 ranger 2.3L 5 speed since I bought the truck 2 years ago. Can you tell me the exact placement of this resistor? I went two years with only high blower speed, and just tonight, I had to change the blower motor, and I'm sure it's because of only having the high or off settings. I am looking to sell this truck in the very near future (just my winter vehicle, very rusty, but has done me very well the past 2 years considering the $700 I spent on it) So yeah, any and all help would be appreciated, but mostly looking for exact location, and possible wire colors going into unit so I can be sure it is the correct part.
Thanks for helping, and sorry for bringing this old post back from the grave.
Eric
A picture of the location and unit would be great also, but yes, I know I am asking for a lot, sep. being a newbie!

The resister is located to the right of the blower motor and it has a plug with about 6 wires. I had to replace the resister which is attached with 2 screws and also the plug which was coroded onto the resister. Total price from the ford dealer was about $34.00 for the parts. Remember you will have to cut and reconnect the wires on the plug if that is cororded also.
Hope this helps!
