Air Intake Scare, Causing Wilma Serious Problems!
***In all honesty I am on the market for a factory system. Checking yards, posts online or anything aside from buying brand new.***
I added a picture of the codes, however the problem is I lost HP when taking off, it idles funny sitting with the brake applied, when it gets up to 45-55 it shakes but not extremely violently. I have also noticed a decrease in fuel efficiency!
I have been told/read about the trouble with cold air intake and the MAF sensor becoming damaged/crusty because of the oil so I plan on checking that. However there are no vacuum leaks, my O2 sensors seem to be ok and I cleaned my throttle body today it was crusted up a bit inside. Didnt really help any.. Any feedback, comments or tips n tricks are more than appreciated by this big feller here for sure! Personally never owned a truck newer than a '94 however the deal was too good to pass up!
Oh and until I find/buy a new intake system I do plan on cleaning the head because they said it could be clogged causing these codes to show up, however it doesn't look like it really needs cleaned ..
last code you need to replace the coil on plug COP on that cylinder. Bucking in the 45-55 speed range is telltale sign of a weak COP. I do that test anytime I test drive this gen of Ford to work a better deal on them because most people assume it’s a tranny problem the way it acts. If you drive it that way for a minute or two it will eventually throw a misfire code for the weak one.
I would change the plugs if you don’t know last time PO did them.
edit: looks like you may have also cooked an O2 sensor
Welcome to the new world.
You have some learning to do. No tricks or other gimmicks. they are NA.
Look at the codes 172 and 175. They are the same condition for both banks. Indicating an over Rich condition.
Look at code 102. It tells you the Mas Air circuit is open. Maybe a plugup or wire harness issue?
Look at the code 141. Tells you the heater circuit for bank 1, rear Ox sensor 'Heater Circuit' is open. Maybe look under and see/check out?
Code 304 is self explanatory. Last cylinder on passenger side is in misfire. Is it water drip from a leaking heater hose. Spark plug, a Coil 'Boot' leak?
You have some items to closely check out, one by one.
Good luck.
