The switch on the blue wire will turn the fan on 100%. So you will see a higher fan speed all the time with that.
So in that state you will have the air flow over the condenser to make the AC run. The down side would be
the extra load and over cooling the engine. You might think about the Snow Plow clutch. In both vases you will
hear more fan noise. I don't know if there will be any other down side things.

I’ve always heard people complaining about the fan roaring...I have never heard it. Maybe my truck is just loud. If I wanted a quiet truck I would have bought an electric...

I think you were referencing my post above? I was talking about the stock 6.0 clutch which is electronically controlled. Still a mechanical clutch, but the amount of slippage is controlled by the PCM, not a mechanical spring like the 7.3 clutch.

Is the snow-plow clutch still electronic or mechanical like the 7.3 one?

Snow Plow is electronic just like stock. It was an option for people doing plowing and seeing overheating do
to the plow blocking airflow and the low speeds they run at when working hard pushing snow..

I have been mounted the snow plow fan clutch for a few days now. So far it has not been louder than the stock fan clutch.
But summer has yet to come...

I added the "blue wire" mod to my stock fan clutch because I was having an issue with the fan not coming on but seeing temps 220+ when towing. Yeah its a little loud but personally I get used to it and the wife has never complained. With the fan engaged my temps go from 220 to between 198 and 205 when pulling. As long as I'm on flat ground I'm ok with the switch off so I just use it when needed on hills.

I had the same issues as Hartwig and went back to the stock 6.0 clutch, but I liked the sound of the 7.3 clutch. In the morning when I'd pull out of the driveway and head down the street it sounded like a semi.

Curious how that works. It's just the clutch, correct? Still uses the stock fan blade? Does it simply engage faster than the stock one? For example when the PCM is calling for 50% fan speed, it goes to 75% instead of 50%?

At full speed it wouldn't offer any benefit over stock as that is really driven by pulley size and not clutch?

The snow plow clutch is ported internally a little differently than the stock one -- the problem is when air flow over the plow causes the fan to reverse direction(when disengaged) and then will not pump the fluid that connects the rotating part with the fan body -- the snow plow clutch is supposed to address this specific problem
Under "normal" conditions you will not see any difference in the two clutches -- since the PCM controls the amount of fluid transfer based on desired fan RPM

I would suggest that the OP needs to check the charge pressure of the AC system and likely clean the condenser and/or the whole air stack
