2001 F250- V10 - so the lines were leaking (rust etc)- it was hard to pinpoint since the leak was over one of the mounts- I was able to cut it out. I replaced the hoses temporarily with rubber ones (they are made for transmission coolers)- the rubber hoses fit fine with clamps and work- I have driver the truck locally and so fr she is good.
With this suffice- or should I look to replace with steel ones? I have to do some light towing in the summer and I heard that the rubber won't fly but wanted more opinions
Rubber hose from a trans cooler kit, is that what you meant?
If so, I'd consider that a "band-aid" fix for now but, not through the summer months. You stated leak from rusty pipe. So that means to me the rest of the steel lines; to & fro' are not long to fail as well. I'm originally from Michigan. And I painfully know the cancer from the northern roads. Stay safe and save up for replacing both lines is my safest suggestion with what data you shared dude.
