Engine Hoist / Cherry Picker?

I am ready to pull the engine out of the van. On vans you are supposed to pull the entire front body off and pull the engine forward.

I don't know if I should pull it with the AR100 transmission attached or not.

I have no idea how heavy the engine or engine/transmission is. Is this 2 ton engine hoist up to the job?

Any other suggestions or comments?

Pull em separate. Safer and smarter.

Reason being is you can replace seals as you should regardless.

It will go alot better,

Denny

Call a local equipment rental, you will be surprised at how cheap a legitimate 4ton cherry picker is to rent. The Herc rental here charges 105.00 weekly for them and its a beast unlike the Chinese folding units

I think I'd leave the tranny in it. It's not that hard to disconnect and having it attached won't make pulling it out any easier. I'm not sure what you mean when you say you need to pull the entire front body off, you don't need to remove the fenders.
