Not a typical look, maybe it the picture or has it been sitting a long time ?

Ya , just fired up after about 6 years. Just the #8 intake affected on a 460.

My concern would be more what the valve , seat and cylinder under it looks like. I assume it got some moisture in there

If it were me I'd just wipe it out and go with it , see what happens it might be fine.

Ya , obviously the coolant port leaked into the chamber. I misted the chamber with marvel and will blow it out. Was replacing the intake with a factory erg delete 4 bbl i have ....Did a compression test and that cylinder was below 90. Other than firing it up after transplant and header install , engine has been sitting for at least 6 years. Like you say... it may come around after run some more....Not keen on removing the head though. Its just a "rat rod" project at the moment. I do have 3 other D3VE heads on parts vehicles though.

If it was a leak and not just rain water that's better , the antifreeze helps a little.

you probably know but be sure to change the oil antifreeze is murder on bearings.

ya oil change will happen once back together. doesnt look like any coolant in oil. Valley pan had rust in that corner as well and seal seemed good when pulling old intake off.
