Guess who decided to not come out with the IPR? This little guy! I can even see the part of the screen that broke off and was in the IPR valve. Isn't this the new type of screen used for the IPRs,?
It came out real easy with a magnetic telescope pick. I wanted to see what was in there before I started jamming it in there and pushing it back further. I kept after this in the pic below for a while thinking it was a bit of an o-ring, then I realized that its some type of "bypass???" for the oil.
Got the new IPR valve in and half a leak test done, everything seemed to check out and its up an running again.
To the future viewers coming across this thread going through a similar procedure: be wary of the cheap IPR valve air test fitting kits on Amazon. The IPR air fitting was NOT threaded for 1/4" NPT hoses/fittings. It was useless. I sent them an email explaining this and they sent me back a picture of where the IPR goes. Utterly useless. The quality of the screen that was included if someone was going to replace it was 10x worse than the broken screen being replaced (see pic). The only thing useful from the kit was the the socket to remove the old IPR. I ended up only using the ICP air test fitting and only got to test 1/2 the block, but I really wasn't having any leak problems to start with, just a clogged valve.
That right there is scary.
only real good thing about Amazon is you can take that part, whichever part it is right up to UPS. Drop it off and the receipt. Amazon will get you your money back don't know about the part replacement.
I Am glad you get her Running. Monitor your pids and you should be ok. Maybe post some, how it is running now. Good Luck.
