hi, i traded my 2010 ford f-350 for a 2014 ford f-350. while hooking up the camper to the 7 pin on the hitch all i get are tail lights and backup lights. i'm wondering when they hooked up the camper to the old truck they wired it differently. i cannot find a diagram for my 7 pin and wire color for each pin. i looked online but see numerous pictures of the 7 pin, but they are all different. can someone show my a 7 pin picture of the connection that is for my 2014 ford f-350?? the wiring colors on the camper are different on the other connections. i dont know what to do first. if i use a tester and say the left pin shows yellow for the left turn signal on the truck and the camper shows brown for left turn signal and it's on the top right pin, how do i get it changed to be on the correct pin? as a lasr resort i'll have to take it to my rv dealer for them to fix it. thanks
Your truck connector should be wired per this diagram:
You can check it with a test light. Ideally your trailer/RV would match this (in mirror image). The colors should match pin to pin, but if they do not, the more important thing is that the pin functions match. I will ask this question gently (because I have done the same thing), are you sure you are not inserting the trailer connection upside down? There is a ridge on the trailer connector that goes into the groove on the truck connector. Even though it should not work, I did do that on my truck and travel trailer one time. Locked the trailer brakes up while traveling at speed and scare the c*** out of me. Also, some connectors allow you to unscrew the wire to each pin and attach a wire to the pin that you want. Usually aftermarket connectors. He is another image the shows truck and trailer connectors. These pinouts are "standard".

Are you hooking up a Lance Camper by any chance as they don't follow the normal color codes?

Reason: adding lance wiring so available if needed
