I am in the final stages of the ez wiring harness on my 1955 ford F-100. I have disc brakes and power brakes from cap. I am confused on where the brake switch goes and how to route this. Do I put it somewhere on the metering block? Or does it go on the back of the metering block that goes to the rear brakes?
thanks
jerry
The kit I got from CPP has the pressure switch located on a fitting on the outlet side of manifold for the rear brakes. You can see it on the lower left in the pic below.
My wires connect to the pressure switch that is circled. One wire goes from battery to switch the other goes from switch to tail light. See updated pic
Mine is located same spot has indy.where is your brake booster?if I remember when reading the ezwire manual,it wants you to run brake switch wire from fuse box to that switch on booster then booster to the turn signal.
Does your master cylinder have matching ports on the other side? If so you can put the pressure switch in there. You can use either port in the master, they work the same. If you put the switch in the proportioning valve it goes in the line to the rear brakes.
The white switch circled in this pic is not the brake light switch. That is for the brake malfunction warning light on the dash (if you were to install one). It warns you of a pressure imbalance between the front and rear circuits.
I eliminated that pressure switch altogether and mounted an electric switch on the brake pedal arm. I found that you have to apply too much pressure to the pedal to activate the pressure switch to get the brake lights to come on. either way you run the orange and white wires to the switch..

Interested in your mounting solution. Do you have any pics?

I'll check to see how easy it will be to get a picture for you. I have the hanging brake pedal with the master cylinder and booster on the firewall. It's a simple $5 switch that could be found in just about any car. If your pedal still goes through the floor you get get a waterproof switch for about $23 . Both are mounted in a way so the moment you touch the brake pedal it activates the lights. My concern with the hydraulic switch is you can be slowing down with light pressure to the brakes and the lights aren't on.
this is similar to how mine is
I used this type of switch
Ok sorry for the delay. My brakes master cylinder is mounted under the cab. I saw the post with eBay switch. I am also curious about the electric brake switch. I’m just trying to figure out the mounting for my stock brake pedal.
thanks
