Angry Transmission issues

Well my first thread was on the “ bump, bang” when accelerating from a rolling stop. I took the advice of another poster and got the correct grease and lubed up the shaft. After putting everything back together and yes I did mark the shaft so that it would go back where it was,I have developed a vibration. Now what?

You know I did the same thing for the same issue and got the same result. Ending up with a u-joint that had little movement, tried changing it, made it worse. Replaced the throw away driveshaft with an aftermarket heavy duty solved that issue for a while. How did the u-joints and carrier bearing look?

Now Ive developed a new vibration but still investigating. I was leaning towards transmission, but regardless of engine speed and gear the vibration remains the same. I think something else is afoot with my truck. I am trying to determine, when, how, what speed(s), which gear, etc.

I suppose the joints seemed fine. But never had a vibration before doing all of this. Just aggravated that I have to do this all over again. I guess I’ll look in female section to see if there are any signs of where it was.

Well I disassembled everything again and this time I removed the front shat and greased it. In a TSB that I read it said to shift the carrier bearing as far rearward as possible, which I did. It wasn’t possible to put the spline in any other way except the way I had it originally marked on the first day. One thing that I read was to mark the original metal boot straps and reuse back in same position. I’m hoping that two straps missing isn’t what’s causing my vibration..after doing all this over again it still has the vibration at all speeds. Go figure. I guess I’ll wait to see if any has another solution. Thanks

Come to think of I can put the yoke into center bearing multiple ways and just spin the back tires to match where the mark is that I applied. At this point it would take a lot and long time to get this vibration out. Not sure I’m up to doing that 50 times.
