I have a 5.4 2v in my 01 f250 and I was looking into swapping it out for a 351m
is it possible? I know I’ll probably have to make some modifications and swap other parts, not my worry, just curious if it can be done
Just not worth the effort as far as I know..
Legally the swap would have to be the same or newer engine.
I have not heard of any swaps and I've been here too long LOL...

why do you say “legally”? You can swap an LS into a Prius and it’s not illegal lol
The question I have would be, what is the intended benefit to reap from swapping out an engine that is AT NEWEST twenty two years older than the vehicle it would be going into? As others have posted, emissions legalities and fabrication will be the hurdles. I've said it before, and I say it again. Swapping out an engine in any vehicle with anything else that's other than what it came originally equipped with, is setting oneself up for major headaches.
Of course, it's possible. If you've got enough time and money I can swap ANY engine into ANY vehicle.
While it is possible, it will take a lot of fabrication and a lot of wiring. It will be a very difficult swap. And then the truck will be next to worthless with that outdated engine in it.
