cab to bed alignment issues

I have a73 f100 2wd short box, I am re assembling my truck and have about 3/4'' of misalignment between cab and bed. the bed needs to come up. I am assuming its from the new rubber cab mounts. do I shim up bed? Shave rubbers down? I assume they will compress over time but not 3/4". what say the experts

They used washers at the factory to set the bed. you can add more and remove them later if your mounts settle.

3/4" of an inch sounds like a lot. My '76 Short box was also misaligned with the box being low. I made sure my new cab mounts were tightened (squished down) & made sure nothing was "hanging up" on anything, anywhere. My box was only a strong 1/4" down on 1 side & even on the other. Shimmed a couple of 1/8" to bring the rt. side up which in turn tipped the left side down a bit. An 1/8th over there and pretty darn good lines. Just saying; do a little more poking around before shimming a whole 3/4". Seems like something askew. gary

I agree 3/4 is a lot. normally it's within 1/4 " .

so I checked my cab mounts to make sure they were socked down, I got about three turns on each one. didn't help much. I made a couple 1/4'' shims as there really is not enough threads even for a 1/2" shim. the 1/4" is not enough so tomorrow I will go 3/8" and settle with where ever that leaves me. I did find some old pics from before the tear down and it was fairly low. thanks for responses.
