Lund visor moves, normal?

Hello all, I have a Lund visor on my 1991 f150, Lately Ive noticed it has a lot of movement to to it after I reach about 45 and gets worse the faster i go. Im concerned the continued move

ment will make it crack and break. Upon inspection it seems to have a few cracks though i cannot remember if it was like that when i installed it years ago or if they are new and i also cannot tell if they are only paint deep or in the gelcoat and fiberglass itself. I dont think i ever saw it move before but maybe i just never noticed it. I took all the plastic caps off and tightened all the screws a little and that did nothing. In an older thread i saw that someone said that using a bug defletor with a visor can cause damage to it. I have a bug defector but the problem started before i installed the bug deflector so i dont think thats it but has anyone heard that before? If you have a visor does it move? And has anyone seen one break do to movement? Thanks and sorry for the very longwinded post.

When I removed mine when I bought the truck, from what I saw, your screws have probably loosened and you have enlarged holes causing the movement. You can just use a little larger screw or J B weld the holes and redrill them. There are plenty of clear cements that you can probably use to fix the cracks. I don't think the bug guard would cause that to happen but ? Mine had one on it also and I removed it. The visor was still tight but it had low mileage and was towing a 5th wheel. Sandy

I’m having the exact same thing happen, I have gone w larger course thread lags twice now.
I think I’ll take front trim inside cab and drop headliner then bolt the visor right through.

So today, just for giggles i took the bug guard off and went for a ride. Problem fixed. Before it started moving at 40mph without bug guard it was rock solid to 65 before i saw any movement and than very slight movement beyond that. I got it up to 80 and only a slight tremor here and there, nothing like before so the bug guard is coming off for good.

if you have a bug guard i would try removing that first as that fixed my problem. Also I dont think lags would be the correct mounting screw but rather a large sheet metal screw. I would think the lag threads would be too far apart and not grip the thin roof metal well.

lags weren’t my first choice, I’ve got the holes oversized now that’s what would fit and seem to grab. Definitely not the right choice.
Ive seen a product called a jack nut , insert that is on cab, thread into it and it expands up locking it tight.
I do in fact have a bug guard ..makes me wonder.

bug deflector wreaked havoc, on my wipers, took off no more issue, and you could try fine thread, they would give more area grabbing a hold of, than coarse threads

Redneck and Torq were absolutely correct.
Took off my bug deflector 2 days ago...no more visor moving around.

Thanks !
