Hello all! I have a 2013 F150 XTR and I am having this fan speed issue. Currently the control does not work (it is stuck on medium speed). When I turn the power to the HVAC off using the power button the speed will increase but stay on. I can stop the motor completely by shutting off the key. I do still have control over the different functions (floor, panel, defrost). I have tried to replace the blower motor resistor, but that cause it to not work at all. I have checked the relay (by replacing it with the rear window defrost relay which my truck doesn't have), and still the same outcome. I have searched all over the internet but all I come up with is the blower motor resistor.
did you look real good at the electrical plug for burnt wires / crud when you changed the resistor ? Why would it stop working when you switched resistors ?

I did, and found nothing. The connector and the old resistor are both good. No corrosion, or burnt connectors. I was wondering the same thing about the new resistor. When I put the old one back in it goes back to doing what it originally did. New resistor, no operation at all. I also saw that video and I do not have that issue.
I have manual climate controls, however the resistor is the larger one with the white plastic housing (i believe this one is for the automatic controls, even though that is not what I have). My controls look like the YouTube video that is in this thread.
What about a bad speed selector switch on the dash, have you tested it?
I followed a video to check the output voltage, and I think I was checking the duty cycle as well (not sure if I was doing it correctly though). The video said there should be a 0-5 volt demand when you go from low to high speed. I had supply voltage, but I couldn't get duty cycle voltage. Again I am not sure I was doing it correctly. I am just confused as to why when I replaced the resistor it didn't work at all though. I would think that if the control was bad it would be bad either way.
