TPMS not re-learning

I recently put some take offs on my 2015 SRW 250 6.2L
After about 1000 miles I got a message TILE SENSOR FAULT. It would be fine the next time I started up and after about 30 min would come back.
I tried the re-learn yesterday and on my first tire let the air out to around 40lbs and still no horn beep.
Anyone have any clues? I tried 4Xs and thought maybe the tire sensor didnt match the position?

Thanks for the help and hope everyones healthy and safe. My business is slowed to a halt so I have lots of time to do the stuff thats needed to get done.
My next project, finding out why all of a sudden the death wobble appeared at 100K miles.
Wife says " get a new truck", but with no work right now...aint going to happen

I have one bad one that I have to have replaced. Owner's manual is pretty good explanation. My will reset briefly than come back on. My guess is you just have a bad sensor.

I would imagine this is something that can't be done in the driveway 🤕

It's just odd that it happened right when I switched wheel. Possibly damaged when removed?

Mine happened when I aired down while running empty bed, then aired back up to haul. Happened with just one wheel. Of course, if you are sure you are not losing air, not reason to worry in the short term as just a nuisance. When I air down, the warning is always on until I air back up. Same with others on FTE.

Try the reset procedure first:Ford Super Duty TPMS Light Tire Pressure Reset (F250 F350 F450 F550):

If you replaced a wheel, tire, TPMS sensor, etc. and are now getting a warning light on your car, then the sensor needs to be reset. Follow these steps to relearn or reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor on your Ford Truck F250 F350 F450 F550 Super Duty.

Drive the vehicle above 20 mph (32 km/h) for at least two minutes and then stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine switch off and engage the parking brake.

Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine. Turn the hazard flashers ON then OFF 3 times within 10 seconds. If the reset mode has been entered successfully, the horn will sound once.

This guy trains TPMS sensors by pressing hazzard button 3 times and removing air from tires.

When I switch to my winter tires on my 2012 I get the TPMS fault and I ended up getting the Ford tool in order to reset the system. The method by letting air out of the tire while trying to get the truck to relearn the new TPMS never worked for me

I never got the re-learn to work by letting air out. I just bought one of the little boxes that initiates the sensor when you hold it next to it and press the button. They're cheap, I think I paid close to 15 bucks.
I change out winter tires every year so I use it.
I also had a bad sensor. I bought a new one online (oem, and cheap) and discount tire replaced it for free.

bad sensor is my guess. the only time I could not reset with the procedure in the owner’s manual is when the sensor was bad.
