So I had code P1263 (injector 3 high/low side short) pop up the other day while driving on the freeway. Truck was running rough, cleared the code and it ran fine. Fast forward a few days and the code keeps popping up intermittently.
I can’t find much information about the 6.7’s and this code. Can anybody offer any troubleshooting advice? I have for scan, not too sure what to look for on the values. I attached a screenshot of some fuel balancing values.
I just popped up a p1267 code- same as yours but for #7 injector. Mine turned out to be just an injector. It is currently being replaced at my diesel shop. Biggest thing to check for is changed or broken wiring and then ohm out the injector. It is possible that you may have a CP4 breaking down and this is the cause of the code but not often with this code.
Might check wiring. If wiring ok, might be bad injector. If you replace injector, the IQA of the new injector will need to be programmed into the ECU/PCM.
Thanks! I had pulled a fuel sample from the rail and it was clean. I checked all the injector resistances, and found #3 to be half of the minimum. Got delayed a bit due to weather and haven’t finished putting it all back together yet. will post an update when I test it out.
