I wish I could find a stepside for my truck, but they are for the most part, all rusted away....
SOOOoo.. If you had the choice right now, would you rather have a stepside or a slab side???
I don't really like the stepside look on the newer model trucks...I think the less box like the designs get, teh less they lend them selves to stepside styling. But I do think the older (late '90's) look better as a stepside.
i like the look of the slab side trucks better, i love my stepside, but if i could find a slabside box as rust free as mine, i would try and switch it out. any one want to trade?
trucks are made to haul stuff, and in a stepside short bed you cant haul much more than a couple bricks. i prefer the straight long beds where i have my diamond plate toolbox and still have room for my spare tire and a 4 wheeler.
Slabside, all the way... function is king out here. But I do have to say, if I did'nt farm, I'd look twice for a cool looking stepper from the '50's or '60's.
You have one of the best looking "old" Ford trucks I have seen.
The next time you think about trading out the bed, try and reach something in the middle of it without using the step - that'll fix the thought.
