Hey guys, I just rolled over 200,000 miles today with my 2004 6.0! Bought it 4 years ago with 120k and I've been running the looney tune for the majority of this time, very happy with this truck! What's your current mileage and favourite daily driver tune?
Just a little over 261k on mine and runs like a champ! 2003 Excursion 2wd. Stock tune, cant imagine needing any more nuts than it has. Pulls my 9500 pound Travel Trailer with ease...

I agree! These trucks make plenty of power even with the stock tune as long as you keep the RPM'S up. I always told myself I would never tune my truck but after feeling the power of the looney tune by quick tricks I'm in a constant battle with myself to leave the truck stock lol, it's a tough thing to do after feeling the potential these engines have!
189200 Gearhead custom tow tune/Atlas 40 Ficm tune year round.
any particular reason you always run a tow tune? I have thought about doing the same because the majority of my commute is driving over 6 and 7% grade for half hour periods and I feel like it would help keep my egt's down because with the looney tune I'm constantly having to unlock my TC (By tapping the brake petal) to keep my RPM''s up and my temps down

I had Gearhead custom tailor it to my engine upgrades, tires and transmission. No need to run anything else and I have 2 performance tunes that get silly. Changing tunes a lot is not good for the truck. The transmission takes a hundred or so miles to relearn shifting so swapping back and forth is not really something I like doing and it’s not my daily driver. I am a fishing guide part time and haul a trailer so it fits. She scoots!
230k miles running Atlas 40 and rolled back strategy only for the last several years. I tried all the major tunes and tuners when I first got the truck, including Quick Tricks and only PHP could get the trans right. If I need more power I just push a little harder on the pedal.
113,000 miles. Running superchips economy fuel saver. More power than I need. When I tow heavy I switch to light or heavy tow tune. I'm seriously considering the atlas 40. We'll see.
