Transmission questions
2 issues I’m having. #1 when I come to a taxi stop and I start to take off again the transmission bangs pretty hard. It’s as if it’s in 2nd gear but decides to drop to 1st gear. It’s a fine line on the speed at which I’m stopping and trying to go again. #2. I have brown fluid dripping out of the transmission and I can’t figure out where it’s coming from. Plus it doesn’t smell like trans fluid. When I had it at the dealer 3-4 weeks ago they added 1/2 quart after I told them the issues I was having. Hopefully they didn’t overfill it but I already had some dripping just not as much. And yes I have searched this but every situation is unique. The transmission shifts perfectly at all other times. I did do a reset myself by disconnecting the battery for 1/2 hour and let it relearn my way of driving. It did seem to help for about a week..but now it’s back.Any thoughts. Thanks

It doesn't learn your way of driving. It learns how long each shift takes to complete and adjusts the pressure for the next shift to be able to complete each shift in the programmed optimal time. That's all it learns.
I think your problem is a binding slip joint in the driveshaft. Ford sells a special lube for the slip joint. Get some. Drop the driveshaft and grease the slip joint and I'll bet this goes away.
