Coolant leak

I am the original owner of my 2005 F350 6.0. It’s stock. I have a coolant leak at the passenger side rear of the engine. Originally I thought it was the water pump but it’s definitely leaking at the rear of the engine on the passenger side. Could it be from the HVAC/heating plumbing. Not a lot of room to see where the leak is coming from. 173,000 on the truck

Get some UV cooling system dye and put it in and run for a bit. Then check with a UV flashlight (black light).
I have found that it takes two bottles of the stuff.

Do you have an EGR deletes? If yes check around the hoses.

No egr delete. I will definitely look into the UV dye.

If no egr delete, check you little blue tube coming off your oil cooler to your egr cooler. They are known to leak and flow down the valley and drop down above your starter.

Check the heater core y pipe and quick connect fittings that go into the heater core at the firewall above the AC box. Pretty common, there is a thread with a replacement solution for the plastic y pipe and heater core connections.

Do the trucks not have the y pipe and just inlet and outlet above the box? Excursions have the y pipe because there is a second heater core in the rear. I would still check those heater core quick connects, the o rings inside can leak, mine both started leaking around 170k.

You are correct.

If you have a coolant filter also check the hoses and connections.
That was one of my leaks.

That is another good point. I have a coolant filter that one hose leaks.
I been lazy. But that would show up on the front of the motor or quick inspection.
It's them sneaky leaks, where there not sure.
