Ridiculous.....just replaced some parts a few weeks ago by taking the part number off the old part.

What the OP most likely is referring to is he found the I.D. NO. on the part, gave it to the PARTS DUDE, and was able to be converted to a SERVICE PARTS NUMBER though the CDP.

He gives the part ENGINEERING I.D. NO to the FORD PARTS DUDE and hopefully his computer will spit out a SERVICE PART NUMBER.
