I'm looking to buy another Super Duty and notice many that, when you look from the side, the front edge of the bed is slightly lower than the matching body line of the cab (see attached). Is that because the bed is rotted and sagging? I'm trying to understand what would cause this?
How tough is it to take off a bed? I'm figuring, especially if there's rotted bed support rails, that the bolts holding it in place are probably NICE and rusty. Could be a real b*tch to get at and replace rails...
Im knew to the site but maybe an help.I had a 2008 and the body mounts were totally eroded away. That is what caused mine to do the same. Its not to bad of a fix but will be some work.hope this helps.
Cab body line would be below the bed if the cab mounts were bad. It's the opposite in photo, the bed rails are rusted and rotting away as others have mentioned.
