I have a 2007 Ford Ranger (Ext cab) Sport with a 3.0 automatic trans...I been having alot of trouble that i dont understand, Check eng light came on showing the code for mass air flow sensor, so I replaced it. Only to see the light back on a few days later pulling a code for throttle positioning sensor so I went a head and replaced it, then in about 4 days the light came back on again and this time it was something about the O2 sensors. So I replaced all 4 of them...Now it keeps coming back on telling something about manifold absolute pressure cant recall the whole thing it said..but its also pulling up U2023, B2276, B2030, Fault received from externeal node, Unknown Issue and front fog lamp relay circuit failure... I did a check for a vacuum leak, on another site they told me to start my truck up and let it warm up so its at its normal idle and then to unplug the air idle control valve and if the rpms droped way down or the truck eng stalled out there where no leaks.. I did this and right away the truck stalled out.. Im to the point of not sure where or what to look at...
Post up All of the past & present trouble code Numbers, as they may offer up some clues as to whats going on. Did the woes begin suddenly after some event, or slowly over time???? Is this a flood vehicle???
The IAC disconnect test you performed seems to indicate the IAC is ok & there isn't a vacuum leak, as the engine RPM should drop, or the engine might run rough, or stall if the IAC is working & there is no vacuum leak to keep idle up. If there was No change in idle with the IAC disconnected then it, or a vacuum leak would be suspect.
On the fog lamp relay, make sure its contacts & sockets are clean bright & tight, as some have reported finding corrosion on relay sockets. If ll looks ok swap the fog lamp relay for a like known good one, not needed to run the engine. & see how it goes
On the other codes & items replaced, did any, or all of the parts test bad, or were you just replacing them on a hunch??? If they test ok, you now have some spare parts.
Make sure the B+ & B- battery post cable connections are clean bright & tight & the B- cable to Engine & Body ground connections are clean bright & tight & the battery is up to a Full charge & the alternator output is able to keep up with a load & keep the battery properly charged.
Might be helpful to know what your using to retrieve codes, is it a scan tool, or a code reader???
U2023, B2276, B2030, these are the codes it pulls up now.. I dont recall the codes it started with, but the first one was about low voltage to the sending unit. I bought this truck new back in 07 has less then 85,000 miles, never been in a flood or anything.. In all the years I had this truck I never had any problems with it then about 4 months ago the check eng light came on and it just keeps going no matter what I replace..One thing odd did happen about a month back, I drove my truck over to one of my kids house and the battery light came on and when I left and went back home it stayed on..The next morning I went out and started it up and the light wasnt on anymore. I pull these codes up with Fixed and then I look the code up on Google...
