Stupid question but, noticed the open space that was taken up with the balancers, will this harbor the cooling capacity of the front brakes thru the wheels..yeah, I'm thrown darts lol
I have had the centramatics for years and I drive my truck hard in the Sierras at 6000' plus (up and down elevation all directions from the house) and never had an issue with brake heat. In reality there is very little to no air that goes through a rolling wheel to cool your brakes. You will not notice any difference, promise.
I have had them on my 2000 Excursion and my '97 F250 for about 4 years. I still get my tires balanced when installed. if a tire is perfectly balanced the beads in the centermatics will space evenly and do nothing.
the reason I balance was I had a tire far enough out the centermatics couldn't correct it.
I have not put them on my '19 F450 yet but it only has about 7,000 miles on it.
I am willing to give them a shot on the Subaru, VW and Escape if I can confirm that the bolt patterns lines up.
The inconsistent results from traditional balancing are frustrating to deal with based on my experience. I have thought bout the ceramic beads inside the tires, but the results for those are widely varying. I used ceramic balance beads in my motorcycles in the past, but the tires on the motorcycles did not last for 50,000 - 70,000 miles and several years like I expect the other vehicles to.
I will get the bolt pattern of the Subaru, VW and Escape when the time is right and get in touch with Centramatics to see if they have a bolt pattern specification or if they just have measurements and hole counts. Would be nice to install a set of tires on a vehicle and never have to balance them again. That is worth the time and effort to me for the price of the Centramatics.
Sous, you are headed in the right direction by calling the supplier once you have your dimensions for your vehicles. However, when you view the one mentioned above it says older cars and motor homes. The majority of listings are for light duty trucks, heavy duty trucks and RVs. Good luck.

Yes sir, I agree there will be good amount of luck involved. I don't anticipate any of the options available from Centramatics will work on modern vehicle wheels, but I will see what I can do. In addition to the bolt pattern, I plan to measure if the calipers will interfere with the balancing discs.
Time will tell... I have about a year or so left on the Subaru tires and roughly the same on the Escape. I will probably try to find a local supplier in the event they do not fit.
