My truck did not come with factory fog lights and what I would like to do is use the factory switch assembly that I believe pulls outward the run fog lights.
Is there a kit to accomplish this or has anyone done this? I’m not sure if I have to add pins to the existing plug and run that to a relay.
bc18, turn your lighting switch all the way to the right ... and then gently pull it out. If it does pull out, I suspect you have the right switch and hardware available to you to use for your purposes. This "test" will just confirm that perhaps you have the fog light setup already available for you to use. Don't ask me what to do after that ... I am electrickity challenged.
My 2000 had a blank panel to the left of the heater control, probably for an option my truck did not have. I put the switch for the driving lights I added in that panel.

it doesn’t pull out. I want to replace it with one that does pull out to switch fog lights on.
this is starting to seem like it’s just easier to do this in a switch with a relay

I was hoping you had the right switching hardware and back plate in place ... just not the OEM fog lights. Seems you now have 2 choices. Replace your current OEM switch and back plate with the ones that includes the fog lights functionality (likely a pricey route) ... or ... do you as you wrote, set up a separate switch for your fog lights. The advantage of this approach is you can use the newly installed fog light switch in any combination with your other lights (high or low beam ... depending on your local laws). Good Luck and post some pics of your finished work once you decide which way you decide to go.
