I need an F

1984 " F "

This letter is 2 1/8" tall x 4 1/4" long x 1/8" thick and has a black plastic surround/pad. Like you see under the outside door handle. I haven't been able to get specs for LMC or Carpender om the size. They seem to be a rare item. The one on Ebay I'm not sure is worth trying to fix and have re-chromed. Still looking.

 

My D is missing. Girlfriend asked why it wasn't there, told her I would give it to her later

I can't stand to pay $64.95 right now to get the set. I've looked for the individual ones and haven't been able to find them either. If you do find them, please post back here.

Thanx Bill. Using that part # on google it brought up Rearparts. I sent emails to all three company's for a price. Can you get the part # for the black plastic pad that goes under the letter "F" ?

 

There is no part number for this pad. AFAIK, it was only serviced with the letters.

You two guys should exchange phone numbers; split the price and buy a set, sell the un-needed ones individually on ebay.

 

I did some home work. The letters sold by LMC and Carpenter are not the 1984 XLT letter's. They are the small letters that go in the lower corner on a tailgate. The 84 XLT letters come with the black pad's when purchased as a ford part. A buddy is trying to get one from Bob Allen Ford.OEM new old stock. At this time however email's are going unanswered. Once things settle down I may get one.

 

"High Buck" Bob Allen is a snake, wants MEGA BUCKS for obsolete parts! The only time I list Bob Allen is if no one else has the part. Allen's phone number: 913-381-2999.
