Personally, I think dealers in general will have to step up their big time to make every opportunity count. The grass is greener on the other side is not going to work for them. Like I said before, it's going to be a buyers market. I saw an Explorer that if I was in position to purchase I would have to make a good hard look at it. However it was well over 120 and now going on to 150 days on lot. To me that shows me poor inventory management. That should work in the buyers favor.
My local dealer has 82 F-150's and 30 Explorers with a total of 243 ----- 2020 vehicles on his lot. Right now the discounts are about 5K on the Explorer and well under 10K on the trucks. These prices don't scream panic to me.
My stepson is in the market for a used F-150 and he's totally disgusted with the prices that the dealers are trying to hang on to. Even as we start to recover, inventory isn't going to fly off the shelves like TP, patience is key to winning this game.
