I was truck shopping with the general manager of the ranches I work for, go to a autonation chevy dealer to look at a 16 F250 6.7L, walking around i see the tail pipe is black. look under truck and it is strait piped, (this is in Maricopa county which has emissions for all vehicles) I ask the salesman if they got the tuner with the truck when traded in and he asks "what tuner" I say the one used to reprogram the truck when the emissions were deleted. he asks what emissions are deleted? I am like seriously! did anyone even look at this truck when you took it in on a trade?
then he asks if we were going to buy it, Sure after you contact the previous owner and get the tuner, or spend a lot of money and return it to stock. either way is fine, we would prefer it deleted as it will be a ranch truck and hot exhaust systems and dry grass don't play well together.
the best part was we took the GM's dodge to look at it and after one trip around the parking lot he wanted it then so he didn't have to drive the dodge anymore.
Typical......salesman don't know jack squat about what they are actually SELLING. I'd run as fast as you can away from that truck. They don't even know it's deleted, so there's no way they have the tuner. Also, the fact that it's illegal for an actual dealer to sell it.
did you look in all the storage compartments in the truck? Maybe the tuner could be there.
Highly doubt it was left in the "storage compartment" or any other place in the truck since it can be sold on eBay for $300 or more. Even if the tuner is still VIN locked people will pay the $300 plus.
Hey Bart, was the EGR gone as well? That, and the DPF combined are BIG money to replace! I guess the dealer realized they can't legally sell it without them, so they're eating it. Hope it works out for ya!
