Don’t know where it goes?

I did a lower intake replacement on my wife’s 1999 expedition and I have almost everything back together except for a white connector that I don’t know where it goes and possibly a hose that I missed? Need help please...?

Possibly missing a hose on that exposed port?

I stretched the wire out for ease of taking the pic. Where would the white end connect to?

Is the plug for the Intake Air Temp sensor that is on the intake just past the air filter? For the missing vacuum line, check around and under the battery and firewall area.

Is there anything not yet installed that might have a vacuum hose that attaches to that port?

The white ended plug doesn’t go to the air intake, there’s a black ended one for that. And as far as that missing hose, I think I may have buried it behind the intake manifold when I reinstalled it. I’m gonna take the throttle body off and see it I can see. I’ll update after.

That white electrical connector connects to the CHT (Cylinder Head Temperature) Sensor situated under the intake to the driver's side cylinder head. You may be able to access it by loosening the alternator bolts and tilting it forward and looking inward toward the driver's side cylinder head, inboard side.

BTW You forgot to re-install the upper rad hose to thermostat housing clamp from what I could see in the photo.

m-chan68 you’re a lifesaver! Any chance you might know what type of hose might go on that port? Also, if I post a picture of it, could you tell me if I hooked the vacuum line up correctly?

Edit... I found the missing hose! Also, still want to make sure I hooked the vacuum hose up correctly. Can anyone say if I did?

The short green is on top of that black thing, red is plugged into a silver port on the fuel pressure regulator (?) and the other one is plugged in by the brake something or other. Sorry, don’t know technical terms yet

1999 is an old model year of vehicle that I have to actually THINK, to try and remember things because it's been a long while since I've been under the hood of one. But looking at the first picture, I have to believe that is a metal nipple for coolant to pass through it, for the heated PCV. There should be a rubber hose with clamp (a small "squeeze" type clamp if I recall correctly) connected to it. The green plastic vacuum hose is connected to the EGR valve in the picture above, as I can see. Beside that, should be the EGR solenoid that has two vacuum ports and electrical connection. If I recall correctly, the EGR metal tube should have a small and slightly thicker outlet with rubber exhaust hoses connected to it as well, and connected to the DPFE sensor. The part you speak of, adjacent to the brake booster sounds like the purge solenoid if I recall correctly, with thicker hoses, one white and one green one (squeeze and pull type connections) and then one thin plastic vacuum hose connected to it (that's part of all the plastic vacuum hoses to the fuel pressure regulator, EGR solenoid, intake port etc.). Those pictures don't give a very clear view of everything under the hood. If you could take a picture that includes a whole shot of the entire vacuum hose assembly, that would help.

Hopefully these are a little better. Otherwise I can take a few more when I get back in town Monday.

This is a top view looking down

The picture above confirms what I suspected above the PCV being heated by coolant passing through it.

The picture above should illustrate very clearly where all the vacuum hoses go. This is assuming yours is a 5.4L by the looks of things.
