CCV question. 😁

Do we need to change out the CCV filter and if so how ? I plan on getting the oil catch can but not sure when it should be changed out factory wise and once the mod is done I worry about it but for now I'm just trying to think ahead of my current situation thank you..

It's my understanding the 11-16 models are sealed and would require an entire replacement. I think I read the 17+ have a replaceable filter.

I would think if the CCV filter filled or clogged we would get a MIL and a code pointing to such but just guessing. Hopefully somebody has went through the process on a high mileage truck and can confirm.

There was a thread on this back in january I believe. No one could find any info on when to replace it.
someone had just replaced theirs, I'm guessing at 65000 miles & it was nasty. I'll look for the thread.

Our gen, the 11 to 16s have the sealed box. The 17 to 19s have the box that opens up and has replaceable filters inside. I'm not sure about the 20s.

The answer is in this link.

215k and I haven’t paid it any attention. I thought on the gen 1&2 it was less of a filter, and more of a catch ‘basin’ that drained on its own.
