oil temps
How high is too high for the oil temp to prevent damage to oil filter plastic. I know ten deg. difference watch it . But in a bind and need to use vehicle till I get my others fixed.

Cheezit stated that the plastic starts to flow at 350 *F. I think the assumption was at 300 *F the plastic began to deform.
Personally I think that damage can be done to soft goods (ie gaskets and o-rings) at much lower temperatures (although it may take time to have a negative impact). I hate to see over 220 myself.

I'm already their, 30 deg. spread , not wanting it to go higher than 240 tops, just in a bind with vehicles right now. Thanks for replying so fast will keep a close eye on it thru torque.

I've been over 240 EOT for just short periods. I think Engine will defuel in the 250 range - Mark likely knows what that temp is...
