My 96’s original fuel pump is leaking bad I think it’s past time for an e-fuel setup, I’ve only seen it in person once in my short life but I know they are huge money if you buy a kit so I’ll probably make my own, any ideas or things to watch out for while doing it, I’d prefer to use pre-existing parts but I’ll do what I need to, I have access to a mill, lathe, welder and some of the basic fab shop stuff.
anything is greatly appreciated 40 seconds after starting I have a pretty big puddle of diesel
Austin, I put my E-fuel together before the kits became available. With time and parts to put one together today you can buy the kit as inexpensive as piecing one together. In my opinion.
If I were to do one today I would do a kit and be done with it. Hitman x can tell you the kit he used. I think it is about $600.
The fuel pressure regulator you will need if putting one together will be about $200- then filter heads- filters -hoses- superduty 99 up fuel pump- connection for banjo bolt- clamps for hoses- freeze plug- relay and wiring. These are just the things I remember off the top of my head. Either way you go you will not regret doing e-fuel
I agree on Mark’s kit. I like it all except the Walbro pump. I built my own kit and used the Walbro originally . It only lasted a few years before it crapped out. I am currently using the stock super duty Bosch pump. It is much quieter and has had zero problems.

i had had no idea about one that cheap, all the ones I’ve seen online are at the least about $1000, I’ll definitely have to get ahold of him, thank you, also I’m a Hillsborough county resident

That's a nasty leak. It's probably doing damage somewhere.
Somewhere I got the idea for a homebuilt kit using all Ford parts. It models the original operation. A 6.4 pump and housing down on the frame rail gives you the low pressure side. A 99.5 high pressure pump gives the high side. It's all pretty much a bolt-on deal. Get a new filter housing up top too. Rockauto has a reasonable price on parts.
Mine's staying stock. The original lasted 25 years. The replacement will probably outlast me. I'm not interested in mods. Oil changes are enough of a PITA, one due now.
I think you can do Mark's kit with the turbocharger installed. I did not try as I was doing other work to mine at the time. Uppipes I think! :hmm:
There is a ton of 'while I am in here...' syndrome when that far deep. Such as a the EBPV flapper delete and delete pedestal. Redoing the turbo (PS, this is cheap and easy). Uppipes. HD valve springs.

It is not doing damage. Pretty ignorant statement. And this mod is a huge improvement over the cam driven stock pump setup. If you are having problems with oil changes, maybe have someone do it for you?
OP, do what Eric did and get his setup. It's been proven reliable.
I texted mark and when he finally responded he told me it was $880 plus shipping so I decided “screw it” and I bought the irate diesel kit instead it comes with and aero motive regulator instead of the fixed pressure one that comes in marks kit anyway ended up spending about $1,200.
also quit arguing resolve your differences please we all live on the same planet might as well get along with each other

areomotive regulator is great. That is what I am using and it works well and adjustable. Glad you got something
