Trailer Brand?

We have a Fury toy hauler and will be selling it to get a 30-35 ft trailer to stay at an rv park we like.
Any brand to stay away from? Ours is a forest river on the low end of quality.

I absolutely love our Grand Design Momentum 394M Toy Hauler. The built quality is better than some of the others, but the thing that really sets them apart from most brands is their Customer Service. They actually care about making sure their customers are happy with their product. I've seen where the G.D. company will intervene and step in if a customer is having problems with a dealer and either direct the dealer to get it resolved or allow the customer to have a mobile service tech to do the repairs. The only issue I've had with mine was the factory installed 50Amp breaker for the Hydraulic system was tripping out occasionally. I called customer service, provided my V.I.N. and address and a new one was sent to my house (80A), as they discovered that the 50A was simply to small for THAT application. They would have installed it for me, but I chose to do it myself since I'm an Electrician by trade.

ATC is in my top five list. Grand Design is in there too.

The more money you're willing the spend, the better they get. But you can still get a lemon from any manufacturer. It's how they support you after the sale that can make the difference.

Northwoods Mfg Desert Fox - They have a very good reputation for quality and perhaps the best four season package
ATC - Very lightweight, but no four season package
Outdoors RV
Grand Design

Thanks for the replies!, my vision was traveling all over, but my wife wants a standard rv, that we would park most of the time.
The fact that i was able to get my City Flower out into the country is amazing.

My requirements are a bit different. I need something that can handle cold weather. I really like the features of a toy hauler (big tanks, generator, etc) but I'm leaning towards towing the ATV behind the trailer instead of IN the trailer.

I have two Grand Design. A 2016 29rs and a 2017 220rk. Nothing major wrong with either one other than the greasy Lippert brakes that I fixed myself. Grand Design is not built better than the three previous Forest River products that I had (Nitro toyhauler, Columbus fiver and Surveyor TT). They all use the same components. I bought into the hype of GD because they were supposed to go above and beyond when it came to service- free parts after the warranty expired , etc. From what I see GD does this occasionally, mainly to those that bitch and moan on social media. I had to pay for my plumbing parts last year, GD gave me a dealer in west Texas that sells them.

So I paid a premium price for these two RV's hoping that I would get the free service that some get. Since i haven't I will not buy another if I have to pay more for it.

Once again I have no complaints about my two RV's- just that GD only extends free service and parts to some people. So don't depend on it.

Looks like you would get better amenities in the standard rv vs the toy hauler type

We had a Keystone Fuzion 371 toyhauler for 3-1/2 yrs. A few problems the first year that took the dealer a few times in their shop to get corrected. Calling Keystone was useless so son is law fixed some of the problems himself. We traded this camper for a a GD 377 MBS Solitude 2 yrs ago and had a few small problems with it. Grand Design stepped up and after sending them pics of the minor problems they sent parts to my house and son in law and myself got it corrected. Dealer service was terrible on both units but Grand Designs customer service seems to be heads and tails better then Keystone's was.

I had an issue with our current Grand Design under warranty the dealer couldn't resolve correctly, one phone call to Grand Design and magically my problem was corrected by the dealer. The dealer even called me to tell me they have a plan. I'm not sure Grand Designs are any more then anyone else. I've purchased two GD and both were about 23%` off of sticker. I'm not the only one whose gotten a great deal, negotiate.

Jim, I know you like to use your rig to hunt. I think you’d be making a big mistake pulling an ATV trailer behind a camp trailer. Think about how many times you’ve had to turn around on a Colorado forest service road. What a pain in the butt that could be and it would really limit where you take it. I have a Desert Fox you talked about in your other post and I put a big Can Am Defender in it. I can maneuver it in some tight situations. I am very pleased with the hauler and would purchase it again in a heartbeat. If you’d like, PM me and I’d be more than happy to talk to you and share my 5 years of experiences with it.

Robert, thanks for the offer. I'm a ways off from making a change. You did get me to thinking about how often I had to turn around on Forest Service road. So far, exactly once. I guess I'm lucky. However, I do agree that turning the train around when double towing would be a lot of work. My ATV trailer is small enough that my side-by-side can pull its own trailer, so once unhooked moving the trailer doesn't require the truck.

I have a short bumper pull toy hauler. The bedroom is the garage. If I had a longer unit that had a separate garage that would make things easier. Not being able to sit down or sleep without pulling the ATV out of the garage is a pain.

Since this thread came back up, I popped over to Craig's List to see if there were any bargains on used Arctic Fox or Desert Fox trailers (Northwoods Mfg). No luck. They still command a premium.
