One of my projects is getting rid of too many projects. But one I have been more serious about lately is making some adjustments to an `86 Bronco. I have a donor 92 extended cab F150 that is high mileage and worn out in the drivetrain department. I have been measuring and thinking hard about cutting the extended cab off the F150 and grafting into the Bronco.
Another improvement is changing the fender corners on Bronco so a standard tailgate can be used instead. It looks like to be fairly easy. Just a bunch of drilling spot welds and a little bit of fabrication. But mostly easy to do. Either do something like this or sell them off for not too much. I am leaning toward the chop job. It is well withing my grasp. I usually have a Bronco to drive, but the last two got sold because someone else wanted them more than I did. Cash talked too much that day. But I want to resurrect one still in my corral. Any input on doing this?
The Bronco I have is in better shape than extended cab. Also less welding this way. No body swaps either. The bed in Bronco sits up higher than in pickup for clearance of taller rear tank. Not so much major alignment issues. To me I see it more straight forward. But eventually will find out one way of another. Thanks for your input. Gives me some more insight to look over everything really close before going to chop chop.
