Hi. I have a -96 F350, 4x4, 7.3 with a broken trans. As I live in Sweden those gear boxes don't grow on trees but I might have found one from a -95, 4x4, 7.3.
They look exactly the same and they seem to have the same number (RF-FOTP-7008) on them but my databox says DPC-202, NAW4. and the box for the -95 trans says DPC-202, TEE4.
Do you think I could switch my trans for that one and if not. Could I switch both the trans and the data box or is the whole harness different?
(I had my truck at a shop for a trans service a few years ago and that guy said my trans was a -95 so they had to order different service parts. Thought he just said that to buy himself some time and didn't thing anything more about it. )
Consider rebuilding the unit yourself as opposed to installing another 25 year old transmission. We can find you repair manuals and send your way if you want to look at it.

There are just multiple sub sections to it.
Well I might rebuild it next winter but everything around these trucks is more expensive/difficult to do here and and I don't have a garage anymore.
There is a e4od for 700 bucks for me if I can use it.
we just put a 92 E4OD in a 96. trans is the same, torque converter is different. 92 was an IDI diesel and has 4 bolts to hold the torque converter to the flex plate, 96 is a powerstroke and has 6 bolts.
as long as the trans came off a diesel it will work.

I don't doubt it will fit. But will it shift even though the data boxes are not the same.
