Hey Guys, I'm swapping out my old 302 ('69) with a '91 302. I have a new 50oz flex-plate & balancer and am installing a new torque converter. The converter is a TCI "Street Rodder" and the F.P. is a PRW 1830205. Following all the instructions for clearance is where I'm having problems. The bell housing to converter pads measurement is OK at 27/32" per specs. The block to converter mounting surface only gives me 1/32" thrust/end play. Not enough, per specs. Is the offset or thickness of the flex-plate causing the problem? PRW tech support doesn't have an answer. I'm looking for some expert help here, from someone that has done this exact swap. The C-4 is an older one that has been converted to 26 spline shaft, so that hasn't changed.
Thanks, Jay :
