I have a 2004 Econoline E150 van for our shop use - it has 240,000 miles and runs great, everything work(ed) - it has served us well. Recently the transmission started slipping (it has an Overdrive on/off button). The slipping was getting worse, to the point of hardly moving So I added 24 oz of Lucas Transmission fix. Presto! slippage stopped. I drove it for a day, but reverse (which had been working) stopped working! I think the shifting is now off - when I put it in neutral it acts like it is drive, in reverse it won't do anything.
I'm happy the forward slippage has stopped - but not being able to have reverse limits it's use. I hate to give up on it, it's been so dependable - any ideas would be appreciated!

Reason: typo!
Mark - when the slipping got so bad that the van wouldn't move, I figured my options were overhaul/replace the transmission or try something else. With 240,000 and rust on both sides, I didn't want to go after the first option so I gave Lucas a chance - read some good/some not so good reviews. At least I can now drive it forward - am going to take it on a 200 mile trip to deliver some parts - will see if it's time to get another van or not. Just have to be careful where I park it!
